Science Studios is an innovative communication agency rooted in science and technology, and working at the borders of communication, media and policy.

Founder

Dr. Mirko Bischofberger is a lecturer and expert in Science Communication at EPFL, ETH Zurich and University of Zurich. He studied molecular biology at ETH Zurich and received his PhD from EPFL. After working for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung and the Swiss Parliament, he continued to the SNSF and EPFL. Mirko has won numerous communication grants and awards, and has worked for the numerous funding institutions, such as the ERC, the FWF, the FNR and many more.

Dr. Isabel Heller Sørensen is a Danish/Swiss polyglot and expert in strategic science communication. With a PhD from the University of Zurich and degrees in applied linguistics, international relations and organizational communication, she excels in leading projects at the intersection of science, policy and society. Isabel designs impactful communication strategies that effectively bridge scientific communities and their stakeholders, and is fluent in five languages.

Marc Serna is an expert in program and event management, specializing in the creative sector. He holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Amsterdam and studied political science at the University of Zurich. Throughout his career, he has worked with organizations such as Swiss Films and Swissnex San Francisco, where he developed innovative programs at the intersection of arts and technology, including initiatives at the Cannes Film Festival and the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco

Chloé Carriere, aka Galactic Chloé, is a space influencer and communicator. She studied Management of Technologies and Engineering at EPFL, with a specialization in space technologies. After spending some time at the European Space Agency, she joined RTS where she works as a science columnist. She's also the founder of Galactic Studios, a communications agency building a better world through science communication, education and positive influence.

Samuel Van Gele is a PhD student at the Max-Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Germany. During his studies at EPFL, he was actively involved in science communication, collaborating closely with the Science Outreach department and his faculty to engage with children, high school students and the general public on various occasions. He's working on establishing new science outreach initiatives with a particular focus on inclusivity and STEM fields.

Engy Aly is a graphic designer with an MFA from the International Master of Design program at UIC/HGK, Basel Academy of Art and Design, and the University of Illinois at Chicago. She primarily focuses on cultural commissions, including posters, catalogs, and artist monographs. She is also the initiator and organizer of various workshops, exhibitions, and events centered around design and visual culture in Cairo and beyond, working under the title 'Sporadic Schooling.'
